DEADLINES
The deadline to complete and submit a scholarship application online is April 1, 2013. Supporting materials can be attached to the online application in PDF format, or mailed or faxed to the Mitchell Institute by May 1, 2013.

We request the following:

1) High school transcript

2) Student Aid Report (SAR) generated from FAFSA

3) Counselor or teacher recommendation

4) Your college choice (Acceptance letter is recommended)

5) Financial aid award letter from your college

CRITERIA
To be eligible to apply, you must be a legal resident of Maine graduating from a Maine public high school, planning to attend a four-year or two-year degree program at an accredited college or university. Applicants must be planning to enter their first year of college in September 2013.

Recipients will be chosen by the Board of Directors of the Mitchell Institute. Recipients will be chosen from applications submitted by eligible students based on the following criteria:

1. Academic performance/academic potential
2. Community impact
3. Financial need

No one criterion is more important than another. The Board carefully weighs all aspects of a student's application.
