The Mitchell Institute is teaming up with the Roux Institute at Northeastern University and MaineHealth to provide Mitchell Scholars with two free, opportunity-filled events in early January 2024. Learn more about each event below.
Roux Institute Open House:
4:30–6:30 p.m., Wed., Jan. 10, 100 Fore St. Portland
Mitchell Scholars and Alumni: Come learn about graduate programs at the Roux Institute campus Open House from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10. (Snow date: Thursday, January 11.) Attendees will have the opportunity to network, enjoy refreshments, tour the campus, meet current Roux Institute graduate students, attend breakout sessions based on their interests, and talk with faculty and staff. You are welcome to bring a guest and can share their information in the registration form at the link below.
All Mitchell Scholars and Alumni are eligible for a 20% tuition discount toward master’s and certificate programs at the Roux Institute, in addition to scholarships through the Alfond Scholars Initiative. Be sure to notify your Roux Institute Enrollment Counselor of your status as a Mitchell Scholar if you apply for any of the Roux programs.

Virtual Information Session, Noon to 1 p.m., Thurs., Jan. 11
Available only to currently enrolled Mitchell Scholars: Join MaineHealth and the Mitchell Institute to explore the MaineHealth summer internship experience from noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 11! During this one-hour virtual information session, you’ll hear from former MaineHealth interns about their experience with the program, learn about 2024 summer internship offerings (all non-clinical), and have the opportunity to ask the questions that will help set you up for success next summer.
The MaineHealth Summer Internship Program provides 10-week, paid internships for post-secondary students looking to gain hands-on experience at MaineHealth, the state’s largest employer. Internships are available in non-clinical departments across the MaineHealth system, such as Information Services, Human Resources, Administration, Public Health, Operations, Communications, Legal, Development, and other non-clinical areas.
